July in NYC is famous for noteworthy events including the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks, the Lincoln Center Festival and the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest—to name just a few. And while these favorites are back for another year, there are many additional events worth checking out. Make a stop at the American Museum of Natural History for Flying Monsters, the newest IMAX exhibition that explores the pterosaurs, a group of flying reptiles that dominated the skies roughly 220 million years ago; or visit The Jewish Museum for some soothing music at its SummerNights at The Jewish Museum series. Broadway in Bryant Park is also back this summer, for those looking for something fun and free to do on their lunch hour. Sports fans can head to Yankee Stadium or Red Bull Arena for some terrific soccer matchups, including Chelsea vs. Paris Saint-Germain and Le Trophée des Champions. View the full slideshow for more information on these and many other events.
