    Bastille Day in NYC
    Bastille Day on 60th Street
    July 11

Experience France without even leaving the City at this open-air, family-friendly street fair commemorating the beginning of the French Revolution. Here you can sample authentic cuisine, stroll among market stalls, enjoy arts and crafts, watch live performances and dance to French-style music. Table-clothed picnic tables provide respite, especially for those who enter the “Tour de France” stationary bike races. For more information, visit bastilledaynyc.com.

    Brooklyn Bastille Day
    July 18
On a late-July Sunday each year, Carroll Gardens' Smith Street (between Bergen and Pacific Streets) is overtaken by freedom frite-munching, anise liquor-tippling, boule-tossing revelers basking in Bastille Day festivities. Live music, French food and drink and general merriment are in abundance, but what distinguishes this fair from others is the steely focus found on the Pétanque fields, for what is the largest tournament of the bocce-like game in North America.
