Summer has unofficially arrived in New York City, and with it comes a spate of spectacular events. Returning outdoor favorites this month include Celebrate Brooklyn!, Shakespeare in the Park, SummerStage, Pride Week and the River to River Festival—to name just a few. New this year is Caribbean: Crossroads of the World, a series of exhibitions at El Museo del Barrio, the Queens Museum of Art and The Studio Museum in Harlem that examine the visual arts across the Caribbean and highlight the histories of the Spanish, French, Dutch and English islands and their diasporas. Additional highlights include the Mermaid Parade, the Museum Mile Festival and Midsummer Night Swing. View the full slideshow for more information on these and many other events.
