Gilded New York
Gilded New York, the inaugural exhibition in the Museum of the City of New York's new Tiffany & Co. Foundation Gallery, tells the story of the wealth and opulence that marked the end of the 19th century in New York City. The exhibition includes costumes, jewelry, portraits and other decorative items from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, showcasing a time when Fifth Avenue mansions played host to the new American aristocracy and the Ladies' Mile luxury-retail district emerged.
