Brooklyn Book Festival

The Brooklyn Book Festival is a celebration of literature, culture and reading, organized by the Brooklyn Literacy Council. The event features discussions and author readings, and though the fest is based in Brooklyn, its scope has broadened in recent years to include themes and authors that extend beyond the borough. Writers such as Colson Whitehead, Esmeralda Santiago, Terry McMillan, Joyce Carol Oates, and Edwidge Danticat, among many others, are scheduled to participate in the showcase. There are readings and events geared to kids as well as high schoolers.
