To honor the 400th anniversary of El Greco's death, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Hispanic Society of America are mounting a joint exhibition that will provide a rare opportunity to explore so much of the artist's work in one place—without having to go to Madrid's Museo del Prado. Meanwhile, the Frick pitches in with El Greco at the Frick, which unites the museum's three paintings by the artist—Purification of the Temple and portraits of Vincenzo Anastagi and St. Jerome—in the same gallery, on the same wall (for the first time).
