  • Gone to the Dogs (and Cats)
The ASPCA makes sure furry family members aren't left out of the holiday gift-giving process. When you make a purchase from the ASPCA Store, 40% of proceeds go back to the animals. And in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, which separated countless pets from their owners, the organization needs all the help they can get with rescue efforts, returning animals to their families and providing supplies and veterinary assistance. For Christmas, the store sells a gingerbread toy set ($16.99) with a gingerbread man and a "frosting-rimmed" house with two block-shaped pieces that fit inside. If you've got a fashion-forward dog at home, treat them to a pair of Holiday Pet Antlers ($2.99). For the family cat, a Jingle Bell Collar ($9.99) helps felines join the festivities in style. Want to see your store purchases in action? Stop by the ASPCA's New York City branch and check out all the work volunteers are doing to give dogs and cats a happy home. —AG
