MoMA Design and Book Store
11 W. 53rd St., 212-708-9700, Midtown West, Manhattan
After wandering through a fascinating institution like The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), a visit to its flagship store is the next natural step. Not only does the store sell prints of featured works from MoMA (like pieces by Jackson Pollock and Jasper Johns), you'll also find a glut of goods with a modern flair. There are dining and home decor products, jewelry, accessories and even useful kitchen tools like The Obsessive Chef cutting board, equipped with measurements—perfect for the nitpicker in every family. Along with lamps, clocks, ottomans and other furnishings, you can browse through thousands of book titles in the annex and on the second floor of the museum. If you happen to be in SoHo, head to the Spring Street location, which specializes in a range of design wares and includes a Muji outpost for all of your minimally designed shopping needs.
