    Nothing leaves a bad taste in a guest's mouth quite like a cake that doesn't live up to its looks, so make sure the centerpiece of the reception is as pleasing to the palate as it is to the eyes. Wedding cakes from Tonnie's Minis are bigger, more elaborate versions of the shop's famous cupcakes. In fact, all cupcake flavors—including Chocolate Kiss (chocolate cake inside of yellow cake, topped with chocolate icing) and Golden Heart (red velvet cake inside of yellow cake, paired with cream cheese icing)—are also available in cake form. Staffers sit down with the bride and groom and ask many questions (Where did they meet? What are their favorite colors?) to gain inspiration for the design—it's just part of the experience, as the philosophy at Tonnie's is that couples should remember more than just the cake itself. William Greenberg Jr. Desserts provides a seemingly endless array of fillings—cream cheese, buttercream, cannoli cream, whipped cream, custard, mousse, chocolate ganache, German chocolate, preserves and fresh fruit, in a multitude of flavors—to complement its vanilla, chocolate, checkerboard, carrot and red velvet cakes. The bakery is known for its black-and-white cookies, but it truly prides itself on consistently producing excellent desserts, made beautiful by a decorator who's been here for more than 30 years. Basically, the only thing you'll have to worry about is whether icing will end up on your face during the cake cutting.
