  • Le Gamin Mobi
The popular Le Gamin chain of French cafés has been operating in various locations since 1992. But brick-and-mortar restaurants are so passé! So, in 2008, owner Robert Arbor launched Le Gamin Mobi, a truck that re-creates his signature French street crepes—those portable, triangle-folded packets of meat, cheese, veggies and even Nutella—for a roving clientele. Besides crepes, Le Gamin Mobi serves salads, fries and lovely toasted sandwiches; a standout is the grilled merguez sausage on a crusty baguette with Swiss cheese and caramelized onions. During the week, the truck is often parked in Chelsea, though it does skip around to sell at special events (most recently, the US Open).
