The Roundabout Theatre Company
Throughout its 47-year history, the not-for-profit Roundabout Theatre Company has been producing classic plays, reviving musicals and developing new works, first in makeshift venues and these days in an established set of Midtown theaters. The 2012–2013 season showcases the premiere of the comedy Bad Jews (through December 30) and the return of the musical The Mystery of Edwin Drood, which won Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. Also in its return to the stage is the Pulitzer Prize–winning Picnic, starring Emmy Award winner Ellen Burstyn, which follows a group of Midwestern women as they prepare to dine alfresco.
