Thanks to the Public Art Fund, original and stirring al fresco artworks can be seen throughout the City's green spaces this summer. On view through August 25 in Central Park, Thomas Schütte's United Enemies consists of an enormous pair of intertwined bronze figures that emphasize distress and loss of power. At Brooklyn Bridge Park, three installations by Oscar Tuazon (through October 13), entitled People, meld everyday objects with local scenery. (One example: a cement block that serves as a handball wall is bonded to a tree that also features a basketball hoop on its trunk.) Also in Brooklyn, gracing the courtyard of MetroTech Center, is Configurations (through September 16), composed of sculptures by Valérie Blass, Katinka Bock, Esther Kläs and Allyson Vieira. Their works provide a beautiful backdrop for a summertime stroll.
