The Museum of the City of New York explores many facets of the art world this season. Picturing Central Park: Paintings by Janet Ruttenberg (September 13–January 5, 2014) highlights the City's famous green space through 17 works including videos, photos and watercolor and oil paintings, many of them spanning as much as 15 feet. The uptown institution also debuts its new Tiffany & Co. Foundation Gallery this fall with Gilded New York (November 13–ongoing), a showcase of nearly 100 costumes, portraits, jewelry and decorative elements that tell a story of the lavish lifestyles lived in New York City at the turn of the 19th century. In a dramatically different direction is Norman Bel Geddes: I Have Seen the Future (October 16–January 5, 2014), a collection of the artist's forward-thinking drawings, photos, models and more from his career in industrial and theater design.
