Film Society of Lincoln Center
For more than 40 years, the Film Society of Lincoln Center has celebrated American and international cinema. The New Directors/New Films series, running from March 19–30, screens works by up-and-coming auteurs such as Ana Lily Amirpour, Richard Ayoade and Andrei Gruzsniczki. The festival also hosts special events, screenings and filmmaker appearances. April brings a retrospective of lauded director Jim Jarmusch's films, titled Permanent Vacation: The Films of Jim Jarmusch. From April 2–10, feature films, music videos and shorts, including Broken Flowers and Permanent Vacation, will be screened, followed by the release of his latest film, Only Lovers Left Alive, on April 11. An exclusive Q&A will take place with Jarmusch on April 9. Cinephiles will also enjoy Rendez-Vous with French Cinema (March 6–16), a program that explores and showcases French filmmaking and on-screen stars. Highlights include On My Way (March 6) starring Catherine Deneuve, who also makes an appearance at the screening, and Young & Beautiful (March 8), directed by François Ozon.
