Opened in late December 2010, Harlem's Aloft hotel is a stylish new addition to the neighborhood. And what a hotel it is—this branch of Starwood's nouveau wallet-friendly, design-driven hospitality brand arrives at Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 124th Street after almost five years in development. As its name suggests, Aloft is a cut above the rest, with light and openness being dominant features in its 124 stylish, spacious rooms. All come with 42-inch LCD TVs, not to mention bathrooms equipped with luxurious Bliss products. (But if you're not staying over, be sure to check out the outdoor backyard deck and groovy lobby lounge.) Best of all, Aloft is just steps from all of Harlem's best bets, like the iconic Apollo Theater, The Studio Museum in Harlem and even Columbia University, on the opposite side of Morningside Park.
