New and old customers alike are greeted like friends at Big Nose Full Body, an intimate wine shop in southern Park Slope. The staff caters to $8 guzzlers and the Wine Spectator crowd with equal enthusiasm, introducing unexpected varietals and suggesting pairings based on, say, the takeout you just ordered for dinner—all within your requested price range. The store developed such a following that the owners opened up Brookvin, a wine bar across the street, which encourages oenophilic exploration via reasonably priced pours and selections of half bottles. Grab a seat beneath the pressed-tin ceiling or on the back patio and order some house-cured salumi or seasonal small plates like octopus with lemon and black chickpeas or pea shoots with Parmigiano-Reggiano and fava beans. You can also hit up the popular happy hour, when $10 gets you a glass of vino and an asparagus–and–goat cheese tartine.
