  • Pier 76
    76 Bay St., 718-447-7437
Located within walking distance of the Staten Island Ferry, Pier 76 serves piping-hot pizza, traditional Italian dishes and standard bar food and beverages in a charming setting. Separated into two sections, the laid-back establishment is part bar, part proper dining room, where sauce-laden dishes like chicken parmigiana, baked ziti and thin-crust pizza are the menu's standout options. The most popular pies are the plain, margherita, arugula and vodka, each kind baked to charred perfection. Owners Joe Guastavino and Jeremy Pappalardo have some experience with the thin-crust slice—Jeremy's father is a co-owner of Staten Island's own Joe & Pat's, which is also known for its signature vodka pie. Aside from baked dough, Pier 76 offers live music, drink specials and sports on all five television screens. Pizza is available till late on Fridays and Saturdays (the kitchen usually closes at 10pm). —Christina Parrella
