Once upon a time, you wouldn't look to Williamsburg to find a store Martha Stewart could love. But such is the charm of Grand Street's Moon River Chattel, a furniture and home-decor store. If you squint while browsing the racks of Votivo candles, Bellocq tea blends, highbrow art books (collections of daguerreotypes, Cecil Beaton monographs) and gardening goods, you might think you're in a quaint country town (with really good taste). The vintage spirit of the neighborhood is evident in reproduction furniture, like chicken-coop-inspired shelving units (handily available as fold-and-go) and dining tables inspired by models found in mid-century cafeterias. Just across the street, Moon River's Annex houses salvage pieces in varying stages of rework and restoration. Wander over and poke around. Despite the relatively spartan look, it's open to the public and everything is for sale.
