Before it was one of Manhattan's bastions of cool, the Ace Hotel was a classic mercantile-era hideaway that had its own boxing ring. The professional pugilists may be long gone, but the Ace celebrates its history via its fitness facilities. The design of its "Let's Work it Out" room evokes that old Breslin ring and is decorated with both new and antique boxing gear. The old stuff is (sadly) just for show, but newer items—including cardio, stretch and weight-lifting equipment—are for guests to use.
