For three Saturdays in August, on select streets throughout the City, honking horns and idling engines will give way to the soothing sounds of perambulation and the cling-cling of bicycle bells. From the Brooklyn Bridge up to Central Park, Park Avenue and connecting streets will be closed to traffic and open to the public from 7am to 1pm, for biking, strolling, dancing and more. Last year, more than 300,000 people took part. The route is lined with rest-and-refuel stops, activities, art installations and more.
