Adrian Lyne's steamy thriller Unfaithful (2002) was filmed all over the City, including at Café Noir, where Diane Lane meets friends for lunch and ends up having a secret tryst in the bathroom with Olivier Martinez. (Only the bathroom part of the scene was not actually filmed here.) This Mediterranean-inspired bistro projects a sexy vibe, with dark lighting, hip-shaking music and archways leading to cloistered nooks. An attractive, international crowd fills the lively bar up front; it's quieter at the small tables in back. Open for lunch and brunch and straight through the day into the wee hours (4am on weekends), it's a fun place to eat at any time of day. Order smaller items like tapas (hummus, Moroccan pizza, seafood mini paella) or bigger plates like burgers, hanger steak or lamb and chicken with couscous.
