One of the great qualities of ethnic food in New York City is its authenticity: it's rarely watered down. In our slideshow we've got an exciting new Thai restaurant that focuses on the Isan region (read: far from the routine pad Thai). We've also got an under-the-radar Greek restaurant that's right out of Thessaloniki. That's not to say we're against innovation. A former Per Se chef has put a fresh spin on Chinese food and a young maverick famous for fiery Chinese dishes has switched gears to make cutting-edge Mexican.
