Ridgewood is the new Bushwick, especially when it comes to this cool, delicious, handcrafted hangout that could very well jump-start an influx of new business to the neighborhood. Chowhounds are threading their way to this remote outpost, packing the oilcloth-covered tables and sharing plates of seared organic salmon with vermicelli noodles and peanuts, and caramelized wild shrimp with bacon, ginger, garlic and basil. Chef/owner Jimmy Tu used to work at Eleven Madison Park and spent a year eating his way through Vietnam, which means this is some of the most technically accomplished, high-quality Vietnamese food you'll find in the City. Go with a group in order to try as much of his menu as possible, including the crispy seafood crepe with bacon and the scrumptious chili mackerel banh mi. Coconut tapioca pudding with jackfruit and palm seeds is a dream. To drink are creative, thirst-quenching juices and Vietnamese iced coffee; otherwise it's BYOB.
