As fast as you can cry chorizo caramel!, a spoonful of the rich, intense ice cream will be offered to you for tasting. OddFellows has both eccentric and conventional flavors, all made from scratch in small batches. The dairy is sourced from Battenkill Valley Creamery, a local family farm. Sam Mason (the former pastry chef at wd~50) and partners Holiday and Mohan Kumar have fashioned a cheerful ice cream parlor with red and white striped walls and a peculiar mix of embellishments that include puppets and a portrait of Jesus. New flavor alerts announced via Twitter—extra virgin olive oil ice cream, burnt marshmallow milkshakes—will keep you coming back for more. Chocolate chunk and Tahitian vanilla are mainstays for tamer palates, but do at least get a taste of the unexpectedly yummy cornbread ice cream.
