  • DB Bistro Moderne
    55 W. 44th St., 212-391-2400, Midtown, Manhattan
Just one block east of Times Square, DB (named for chef Daniel Boulud, bien sûr) is a humming, streamlined, train-station-style bistro, though the ride is definitely first class. A recent redesign added a clubby little bar and an updated menu by new executive chef Jim Burke that emphasizes seasonal cuisine but has retained DB standards like coq au vin and the famous sirloin burger filled with braised short rib, foie gras and black truffles in a Parmesan bun. Book a table for the three-course $48 pre-theater menu or for the $75 three-course Thanksgiving feast. Just think of the heaven of indulging in pâté en croûte of guinea hen and foie gras with huckleberry compote, roast turkey with pommes pureé, celery root and chestnut stuffing, and caramelized apple tatin—all without having to do the dishes.
