  • Gone to the Kids
A slew of hands-on learning institutions, including the Children's Museum of the Arts and The Drawing Center, have made SoHo more kid-friendly than ever. (Your chances of stumbling over a Maclaren stroller parked outside a luxury boutique are quite high—the posh company even has a showroom in the neighborhood.) The Scholastic Store emphasizes education and learning with an expansive selection of books (divided by age and subject), toys and games, as well as areas for playing, story time and activities. Giggle carries basic supplies, clothing and toys for newborns, while Julian and Sara, which was one of the first children's clothing boutiques to crop up in the neighborhood, caters to the fashion-forward set by stocking a number of European brands. And for the kid in all of us, Kidrobot features alluring and colorful vinyl toys that range from affordable to over-the-top. In addition to the Kidrobot line, there are whimsical products done in collaboration with a variety of artists.
