Every day is a weeper at this new musical based on the 2006 indie film about two aspiring musicians who meet, are magnetically drawn to each other and begin a creative partnership that limns a romantic dalliance. As the characters develop an emotional connection, the songs they write, perform and eventually record capture the sentiments they feel, both for each other and for their own lost loves. The musical version gained a following Off-Broadway last year and is now opening on Broadway featuring the affable Steve Kazee and Cristin Milioti as the protagonists simply named "Guy" and "Girl." Bring some tissues—this has the potential to be a very teary, but lovely, night.
