Season of Cambodia
April 6–May 31
The very best of Cambodian art past and present lands in New York City in April and May, bringing performances, discussions, screenings, gallery exhibitions and more to some of the City's most prized venues. Currently confirmed offerings include a Lunar New Year celebration at the Rubin Museum of Art on April 13, featuring sacred music and dance performances and blessings by monks. The Cambodian Film Festival brings the best of the region's creations to the Film Society of Lincoln Center, April 19–25. And May 2–4, the Royal Ballet of Cambodia presents dance-drama The Legend of Apsara Mera at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The festival—the first of its kind—will celebrate the return of Cambodia's long-suppressed artistic and cultural offerings.
