Summer is around the corner, and with it comes warm weather and a vast selection of events that will keep your calendar full well into September. Best of all, most of these take place outdoors, enabling you to enjoy the higher temperatures. Alfresco festivities include the Museum Mile Festival, Shakespeare in the Park, Big Apple Barbecue Block Party, Broadway in Bryant Park and Summer Streets. June brings many cultural celebrations, such as the National Puerto Rican Day Parade and Pride Week. In July, celebrate our country's independence with the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest during the day and the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks over the Hudson River that night. And wrap up your summer with tickets to the biggest event in tennis: the US Open Tennis Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens. View the full slideshow for more information on these and many other events.
