    The year-old Itizy does more than scoop intensely flavored, just-churned ice cream. Owners Ann Yu and Kenneth Chen are on a mission to feed needy children through nutritious school meals provided by the UN World Food Programme. For every five scoops of ice cream or sorbet sold, they donate one school meal. That means flavors like hazelnut with chocolate crunch bites, matcha (green tea), roasted banana and malted vanilla with peanut butter swirl are feel-good propositions, not guilty pleasures. Small farm cooperatives in the Hudson Valley furnish the fresh cream, milk and eggs. Itizy's line of ice cream pops contains fun options too, such as s'mores on a stick: Belgian dark chocolate ice cream in a chocolate shell rolled in graham cracker crumbs and sporting a mini-marshmallow hat.
