When it comes to the holidays, no place celebrates the season quite like New York City, from Rockefeller Center's 74-foot Norway Spruce, with its 30,000 lights, and the 32-foot-high menorah (the world's largest) near Central Park to top-notch selections of fashion and food at multiple holiday markets. At the center of it all are the spectacular holiday windows at the City's department stores, who pull out all the stops with elaborate displays and topical twists. This year, the stores are turning the streets into one big glamorous runway—you'll see Alexander McQueen–bedecked mannequins at Saks Fifth Avenue, a carnival of couture at Bergdorf Goodman and Lady Gaga gallivanting through Barneys. Here's a rundown of what's happening (walking, posing, crawling, floating and spinning) behind the glass this season.
