The Brooklyn Cyclones, the single-A minor-league farm team for the New York Mets, are among the newest teams in New York sports: Since 2001, they’ve been playing in MCU Park (originally Keyspan Park) on Coney Island, about an hour’s subway ride from Midtown. Their namesake nods at the nearby Coney Island Cyclone, the landmark wooden roller coaster (which is still open seasonally, though the Astroland amusement park is closed).
