  • City Hall
Opened in 1812, City Hall is the oldest building in the nation still serving its original municipal function. Throughout its storied past, the building has hosted its share of famous politicians; during visits, presidents and dignitaries often stop by the Governor's Room, whose walls are now decorated with oil portraits of its famous guests. You can see these features and hear historical anecdotes on guided tours—for free. Visit nyc.gov for more information.
