Ellis Island Tours with Tom Bernardin
Ellis Island was once one of the most significant ports of immigration to the United States: four in ten Americans can trace their ancestry there. Today you can explore the site and get in touch with your roots at the American Family Immigration History Center, which contains the records of over 50 million passenger arrivals (as of May 20, you can also check out the new Peopling of America Center). On this in-depth tour, former National Park Service guide Tom Bernardin takes visitors inside the National Museum of Immigration's Great Hall and around Ellis Island's grounds. Tours begin at Lower Manhattan's Castle Clinton, the departure point for the ferry to the island.
