The 161st Street BID is committed to making the area around Yankee Stadium cleaner, safer and friendlier for those who live, work, shop and visit this historic community. The BID helps groups and organizations by cleaning the streets, holding special celebrations and marketing its unique qualities. The old Yankee stadium, renamed Heritage Field, hosted the pope, pro football, boxing and some of the greatest baseball games ever played; today fans can relive sporting special moments while taking a tour. The new Yankee Stadium boasts a museum and conducts tours of the field, clubhouse and Monument Park. There are landmark restaurants and sports bars for dining and cocktails, and great bargains on collectibles, baseball souvenirs and clothing steps from Metro-North Railroad and the B, D and 4 subway lines.
