Before it was taken over by Serge Becker of the Box and La Esquina, this cavernous space on the corner of Chrystie and Stanton was a divey rock club called 6s and 8s. Now, it’s been given the Becker treatment—aka outside graffiti done by local hero NeckFace, basement walls covered with text from outlandish craigslist.org ads, tin ceilings, leather benches and a disco ball. The crowd is more Euro than local, nodding their hip heads to the grooves until 4am.
