New York City is made up of five boroughs: the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Each one has enough attractions—and enough personality—to be a city all its own. Learn more about them with this guide.
Built in 1933 for the famous "Harlem Hellfighters"—the first black regiment to serve in World War I—the Armory is now an indispensable community center. The historic building is a giant indoor playground where children and adults can play games of tennis, climb rock walls, sharpen their basketball skills and more. There are exercises for the mind, too: the Armory features tutoring and mentoring services. It also hosts public events such as conferences, career fairs and athletic competitions.
