Confused as to why a bar on Frederick Douglass Boulevard would be named 67 Orange Street? The moniker is actually a nod to the address of Almack’s Dance Hall, one of the first black-owned bars in New York City, which was open in the 1840s. Today, 67 Orange is a hopping cocktail lounge that does its inspiration proud. Aside from inventive drinks with names like the Cherry Pisco Sweet, Sexy Bison and the Green Fairy ($13 each), there’s a limited bar menu with snacks like chicken drum sticks and fish and chips.
