Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City serves the low-income youth of the City (between the ages of 7 and 17) by matching them with an adult mentor. The organization also provides long-term assistance for children who have lost a parent or close relative in the World Trade Center attacks, and matches children who have lost firefighter parents in the line of duty with mentors who are active or retired firefighters.
