Sometimes the Village gets bad rap for its drunk tourists, myriad leatherworking shops and rowdy students, but these two Off-Broadway theaters prove to be a respite from the madness. The upstairs Bleecker Theatre seats 199 to 300, while the downstairs Lafayette Theatre is smaller and seats 99 to 150 patrons.
