Upstairs from superstuffy Shelly's is the Blue Lady, a large lounge that's long on wow. Small jazz bands perform in the center of the room, and all around them are jazzy explosions--blood-red walls, leather banquettes and booths, and a smaller raw bar. The dim, intimate space has massive windows overlooking 57th Street. You'll be hanging with midtown workers, cool old guys and sophisticated tourists. Once you're settled into a couch, with an oyster platter and a Calvados sidecar (Calvados, Cointreau and lemon juice), you won't be blue.
