Caffe Vivaldi

32 Jones St. (at Bleecker St.)
Manhattan, NY 10014

Andy Warhol, Woody Allen, Bette Midler and Al Pacino have all patronized Caffe Vivaldi over the decades, a classic and unpretentious Greenwich Village haunt where live music takes over a corner of the room every night. Bullets Over Broadway and Whatever Works are among the movies partly filmed here, and Oscar Isaac, the star of folk-music flick Inside Llewyn Davis, has been known to grace the stage. The Italian menu includes simply prepared salads, panini, pasta and seafood served on travertine marble tables. On a winter's night, the best seat in the house is the deuce next to a flickering fireplace underneath an image of a local folksinger made good, Bob Dylan.
