New York City is made up of five boroughs: the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Each one has enough attractions—and enough personality—to be a city all its own. Learn more about them with this guide.
The accessories-driven branch of Catbird's original Metropolitan Avenue location has outlived its predecessor, which sadly closed its doors in March. This diminutive, chandelier-lit Bedford Avenue outpost sells a lovely selection of jewelry from emerging local labels, plus original accessories. Much of the adornment has a whimsical bent, such as Digby & Iona's brass birdcage necklaces, containing a miniature sparrow, rooster or rabbit in silver or gold, and Bittersweets New York's delicate, diamond-studded ID bracelets and tiny rabbit foot or monkey paw charms.
