Cinders Gallery

103 Havemeyer St between Grand and Hope Sts
Brooklyn, NY

description/

Art lovers and neighborhood folks gathered together to open this Williamsburg art gallery in 2004, hoping to create an inviting space. For the past six years, they've been hosting live music performances, monthly art exhibitions, talks and barbecues. So why is it called Cinders? As they were searching for just the right space for their new gallery, founders Kelie Bowman and Sto's house literally burned to the ground. (But clearly they have a sense of humor about the whole thing.)
