Evidence that Circolo attracts a fashionable, jet-setter crowd came early when it got shout-outs in Harper's Bazaar and T Magazine upon opening in early 2013. Its Bond Street location helps, but the built-in following is largely due to the venue's pedigree: the team here also runs the posh Posada Margherita in Tulum, Mexico. The design of the space shows studied restraint, with a copper-topped bar, pale gray walls, simply constructed blond wood tables and lots of candlelight. The Tuscan menu relies more on top-quality ingredients than fancy flourishes. Recommended dishes include grilled octopus, an excellent variety of cured meats and select cheeses, handmade pasta with rabbit ragout and the pork chop with mushrooms.
