The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum is the place to go for everything design, both past and present. Its collection includes pieces from more than two thousand years ago, as well as contemporary items. It is the only museum in the United States that focuses on the history of design as well as its current practice. Located on Fifth Avenue in the Andrew Carnegie Mansion, the museum has visiting exhibitions as well as a collection featuring graphic design, drawings, prints, product design, textiles and wallpaper. The museum is closed for renovations through 2014.
