Corvo Bianco has a striking design, embellished with trompe l'oeil artwork, birdcages, Tim Burton–esque tree branches, brick archways and a massive terra-cotta fireplace. At lunch and brunch the soaring dining room's skylit ceiling floods the space with light that dances off a wall of potted plants. Altogether the restaurant can hold 225 patrons, with an attractive bar/lounge and 30-seat private dining room available for parties. Food Network star Elizabeth Falkner (whose restaurant plaudits include San Francisco's Citizen Cake and Brooklyn's Krescendo) is deft with grilled pizza, broccolini and ricotta bruschetta, pappardelle with short rib ragù, and grilled whole branzino. Coastal Italy is the foundation for her inspiration. To drink are tasty riffs on Italian cocktails (smoky Negroni spiked with mezcal, for instance) and an extensive, fairly priced wine list.
