This chic, cozy Korean spot is the first solo venture from rising-star chef Hooni Kim, formerly of Daniel and Masa. The traditional and modern menus of small plates are easy to navigate and executed with classic French technique. It's a good introduction to a world-class cuisine that's foreign to many people. Highlights include short ribs, sweet sablefish, kimchi bacon paella and bulgogi beef sliders with spicy pickled cucumbers. There is a good selection of sake and soju, and the inventive cocktail menu employs ingredients like Asian pear, lemon oil and ginger ginseng.
