Dinosaur is like a big barbecue party in a barn: loud and festive, with live blues in the bar. In the shadow of the West Side Highway and across from Fairway, this Harlem hotspot attracts neighborhood folk and New Jerseyites who make the quick trip over the George Washington Bridge. There's good value here, with dare-you-to-finish-it-all combo platters of pork ribs, Texas-style beef brisket and snappy Elgin, Texas, sausage links (possibly the best in the nation). If you're not in the mood for barbecue there's also rib eye steak with habanero butter and a classic Cuban sandwich. Sweet, shredded collard greens, lightly dressed coleslaw and buttery, Syracuse-style salt potatoes are all soulful sides.
