New York City is made up of five boroughs: the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Each one has enough attractions—and enough personality—to be a city all its own. Learn more about them with this guide.
Though carefully crafted scents waft through the prestigiously decorated flagship, this Madison Avenue perfume shop is far from stuffy. Friendly employees will eagerly guide you to three space-shuttle-like tubes standing against the back wall. Once a perfume of your choice is sprayed inside, you simply stick your head in and get a whiff of what a person would smell like if they passed you by on the street. Several scents stand in a refrigerated glass enclosure to choose from--18 in total created by nine "noses," or perfume artists--and come in a range of sizes ($160--$300 for a large 10ml bottle). For a light and airy scent, pick up a bottle of the popular Une Rose ($110--$270) or Rubber Incense box ($105) to give a subtle aroma to your closets or drawers.
